UCLA Center for International Medicine (CIM) Founder and Executive Director, Eric Savitsky, M.D., witnessed the devastating health consequences resulting from a shortage of trained healthcare workers firsthand while providing medical relief assistance in Bosnia, Indonesia, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. His personal experiences and resultant desire to contribute towards improving global health led to creation of the UCLA CIM in 2002.
Based within one of America’s leading universities and located in the entertainment capital of the world, the UCLA CIM comprises experts from the fields of medicine, technology, digital communication, and entertainment.
The CIM creates customized, compelling computer-based medical training and health education programs, as well as research and develop the latest computer-based training technologies. The CIM also conducts ongoing healthcare provider exchange programs and sends physicians overseas with the goal of improving medical services through partnerships with local clinics and other medical care facilities.
