Landmine & Explosive Remnants of War Safety Training

Partner: United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS)

Identified Need: Landmines and other types of explosive remnants of war are insidious leftovers of armed conflict, with ongoing affects on civilians and their communities long after conflicts have ended.

CIM's Solution: On behalf of the United Nations Mine Action Service, the UCLA CIM developed a self-guided DVD training program for UN employees and other international service providers entitled, “Landmines and Explosive Remnants of War Safety Training,” with the goal of teaching international relief workers how to recognize and respond to dangerous situations. The program is unique and engaging, featuring video, instructional games, graphic imagery, animation, and mini-assessments and a final test. The user is issued a printable certificate of completion after successfully completing the program and assessments.

To request copies of the training program, please contact the United Nations Mine Action Service.
